Gaming Addiction
Gaming Addiction is a behavioral disorder characterized by an obsessive and compulsive engagement in video games, online gaming, or simulated gaming. This disorder is characterized by a person’s inability to control the amount of time they spend playing video games, leading to severe consequences in their personal, professional, and academic life. People with Gaming Addiction may also experience a range of psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, social isolation, and disrupted sleep patterns. Treatment of Gaming addiction typically involves a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, family intervention, and social skills training. With early recognition and intervention, gaming addiction can be treated, leading to improved quality of life.
