Gait Rehabilitation
Gait Rehabilitation is a form of physical therapy that uses movements of the body to improve functioning of the legs and feet. Its purpose is to reduce discomfort, improve balance and strength, and restore or improve a patient’s ability to walk. The treatment may include utilizing a range of exercises, manual therapy, and assistive devices in order to improve patient’s affected gait pattern. Gait Rehabilitation is effective in treating a variety of conditions, such as injuries to the feet, lower leg, or knee; stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and arthritis. It can improve posture, balance and coordination, and reduce fatigue. Gait Rehabilitation is an important form of therapy that can help a patient return to an active lifestyle.
