Drug Addiction
Drug addiction is a chronic brain disorder in which a person compulsively seeks and uses drugs, despite the harmful consequences. It is characterized by changes in brain anatomy and chemistry that persist long after drug use has stopped. Drug addiction can lead to a number of physical and psychological health problems, including increased risks for mental health issues and illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Drug addiction can also increase the risk of overdose and death. Treatment for drug addiction typically involves a combination of psychotherapy and medication, as well as lifestyle and dietary changes. With proper treatment, individuals can regain control of their lives and health, and lead fulfilling lives.
