Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a type of cardiovascular disease which affects the major artery that supplies blood to the heart (the coronary artery). It is caused by the buildup of plaque in the walls of the artery and affects millions of people around the world. CAD is often referred to as “the silent killer”, as it can cause a heart attack or sudden death without any prior signs or symptoms. Early detection and management of CAD is essential for reducing the risk of these serious health complications. It is important to practice a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise, maintain good blood pressure and cholesterol levels, stop smoking and eat a balanced diet to help reduce the risk of CAD.
