Compulsive Sexual Behavior
Compulsive Sexual Behavior (CSB) is an impulsive-control disorder characterized by an intense, persistent, and recurrent urge to engage in sexual activities that are often out of character for the individual. People with CSB may experience a range of negative consequences, such as shame, guilt, legal issues, relationship problems, or financial difficulties. It is increasingly being recognized as a diagnosable disorder, and there are a variety of evidence-based treatments available. Additionally, research suggests that there is a genetic component in the development of CSB, and that it is linked to other mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. Early diagnosis and treatment can help to reduce the severity of symptoms, and improve quality of life.
