Bipolar

Disorder Bipolar Disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme shifts in mood and energy level, which can impair a person’s ability to work, study and engage with others. People with bipolar disorder experience periods of both extreme depression and elevated moods, known as mania. Symptoms of bipolar disorder can include difficulty with concentration and decision-making, hopelessness, irritability, changes in sleep patterns, increased risk of substance misuse, and sometimes suicidal thoughts. Treatment for bipolar disorder typically involves a combination of medications and psychotherapy, to help manage moods, mitigate the risk of relapse, and improve quality of life. With appropriate support and care, it is possible to live well with bipolar disorder.
