Behavior, Addictive

Addictive behavior is an umbrella term that refers to the behavioral patterns of an individual that is reliant on addictive substances or activities. These behaviors can have a damaging effect on the person's health, mental well-being, and lifestyle. Addiction can manifest in various forms, such as drug and alcohol abuse, compulsive shopping and gambling, as well as excessive eating, internet surfing, and gaming. The most important aspect of understanding addictive behavior is recognizing the need to establish healthier coping mechanisms to help break the cycle of addiction and create a better quality of life.
