Addicts
and Addiction Addiction is a complex condition in which a person engages in compulsive use of a substance or activity, despite its potentially negative or harmful effects. It can often lead to physical and psychological changes, such as altered behavior, loss of interest in activities, and changes to mood and cognition. Addicts may continue to use their substance or activity of choice despite serious personal, social, and/or financial consequences. Treatment for addiction typically involves a combination of medications, psychotherapy, and other social support services. With help, addicts can learn to better manage their addictive behavior and avoid relapse. Treatment and preventative measures, such as education and support, are essential for promoting a healthy lifestyle for those struggling with addiction.
