Addicted Brain Work Model
The Addicted Brain Work Model is a neuroscientific framework that explains why addiction is so difficult to treat. It proposes that addiction is a chronic and relapsing disorder resulting from an imbalance in the brain's reward circuits. This imbalance is caused by repeated exposure to highly addictive drugs or activities and leads to powerful cravings, compulsive behaviors, and diminished impulse control. The Addicted Brain Work Model has been useful in helping health professionals understand and better treat addictions. It can also be used to inform public health policies, educate the public on the risks associated with addiction, and develop effective prevention and intervention strategies.
