Abstinence

Abstinence refers to the practice of abstaining from indulging in certain behaviours, such as eating certain foods or consuming alcohol and drugs. Abstinence is seen as a significant way to maintain health and well-being, as well as to reduce the risk of addictions and dependence. Abstinence is also used to treat addiction, by avoiding the behaviour that causes compulsive substance use or other addictive behaviours. It is also used to prevent pregnancy and the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Abstinence has become increasingly popular as a lifestyle choice, with many people choosing to abstain from certain activities, such as drinking alcohol and smoking, to improve their physical and mental health.
