Biography:

  • Anne VEJUX, has obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Burgundy (France) on December 1st, 2006 concerning the characterization of the myelin figures associated with the accumulation of polar lipids induced by different cytotoxic oxyterols: study of the relationships between apoptosis and lipid metabolism in the field of cardiovascular diseases. 
  • Then, from July 2007 to July 2008, she was appointed post-doctoral researcher at TIRO Laboratory (Transporters in Imagery and Radiotherapy in Oncology) directed by Dr Thierry Pourcher, of the University of Nice/CEA (France) where she studied the effects of iodine on cell functions of different cell lines, expressing or not NIS (Natrium iodide symporter) in vitro and in vivo models. Then, from September 2008 to September 2009, she was appointed assistant teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Nice for teaching and in the same laboratory for scientific research where she continues the project presented previously. 
  • From September 2009 to September 2010, she was also assistant teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Franche-Comté and in the "Estrogen, Gene Expression and Central Nervous System Diseases" laboratory directed by Pr Michèle Jouvenot (Besançon, France). She worked on regulation of qsox1 gene expression and the roles of QSOX1 protein in cell functions, characteristics of cancer cells.
  • From September 2010 to august 2011, she was researcher in clinical research at University Hospital of Besançon (France) in the service -Centre d’Investigation Clinique/Inserm” and worked on the development of medical devices in virology and oncology.
  • In 2011, she becomes assistant professor in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Burgundy and joined the Team 'Biochemistry of the Peroxisome, Inflammation and Lipid Metabolism' (Bio-PeroxIL, http://bioperoxil.u-bourgogne.fr/) directed by Dr Gérard Lizard.
  • In this team, she was implicated in different themes developed by the group directed by Gérard Lizard: the relationships between peroxisomal metabolism, inflammation, oxidation, and lipid status mainly in oligodendrocytes and microglial cells and the research of biomarkers of X-Adrenoleukodystrophy and multiple sclerosis. She helps and supervises PhD and Master students.
